Travelling the coast from north to south, nature surprises us at every turn. Places which due to their high ecological value, are areas protected by various insignia.
The beaches of Ferrolterra – Rías Altas are a real natural paradise to enjoy throughout the year but especially in the summer. From north to south, over fifty beaches and dozens of lovely coves.
Cultural heritage
There are four historic urban centres to visit in Ferrolterra – Rias Altas: Ferrol, Pontedeume, Cedeira and Ortigueira.
There are six castles that are preserved in good condition: Andrade castle, Naraío and Moeche castles, San Felipe and A Palma castles and the Concepción castle.
Religious architecture is abundant throughout the territory. In fact, you will see a church for every population centre, however small it may be. Many of these churches contain elements of great artistic value.
Lighthouses are a cultural and architectural heritage of great value. Even more so if we consider the important role they play. Their lights guide us through breathtaking scenery.
The greatest cultural offer is in Ferrol, the largest town of the destination and with the greatest population. However, throughout the destination we will find other unique museums.
